This preparation class will help the technician prepare for the EPA Refrigerant Certification Test.
We will be covering the core portion of the test along with the three certification types. At a minimum the core and one TYPE exam has to be passed to receive your CFC Certification. To
achieve the universal certification, the core exam, plus the three TYPE’s are to be passed.
TYPE I: Persons who maintain, service or repair small appliances must be certified as TYPE I technicians.
TYPE II: Persons who maintain, service, repair or diagnose of high or very high pressure appliances, except small appliances and motor vehicle air conditioning systems, must be certified
as TYPE II technicians.
TYPE III: Persons who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of low pressure appliances must be certified as TYPE III technicians.
UNIVERSAL: Persons who maintain, service or repair low and high pressure equipment, including small appliances, must be certified as UNIVERSAL technicians.
